Watch Hennessey Jeep Trackhawk VS 2018 Ford GT

Hennessey Performance is always synonymous with high-speed powerful cars. The tuning company loves to go beyond limits, taking the performance of already-powerful machines to a whole new level. It makes tuning kits not only for supercars, but also for various muscle cars, crossovers, and even trucks too. In short, Hennessey is a beast maker.

Here you’re going to watch one of the company’s creations, the Jeep Trackhawk, accepting a cross-world drag-race challenge from the 2018 Ford GT. This is interesting, since an acceleration battle usually brings two cars from the same category to a dragstrip to prove which one is the fastest. But now you’re going to witness a speed race between an SUV and a sports car.

The Jeep Trackhawk is clearly the bigger player here. Not only it’s bigger, it also seems to be heavier. But make no mistake, you’re looking at a wild 1000-HP SUV. And the Ford GT that challenges it has at least 647 HP at its disposal. The former reaches its full power at 6500 rpm, while the latter at 6250 rpm.

You would think this is not a fair battle for the Trackhawk, since its opponent is smaller, lighter, sportier, and has better aerodynamics. The only thing that is lacking in the Ford GT – compared to the Trackhawk – is power. This one single shortfall, however, is more than enough to allow the Jeep to seize an undisputed victory.

All those advantages that the Ford GT has are proven to be of no help against a much bigger power, albeit wrapped in a much bigger size as well. The sports car was struggling to keep pace with the Trackhawk SUV.

Regardless of the outcome of this battle, both vehicles are great for their respective categories. The Jeep Trackhawk is good for family time, although with Hennessey’s HPE1000 upgrade, you will have a monstrous family car. Meanwhile, the Ford GT is also good for you when you want to be alone. On the dragstrip, both cars are fast, but a few seconds makes a significant difference.
