As Tesla is increasing its production rate, we can expect to see the dual-motor Model 3 arriving in the next few months.
The news popped up after the company’s CEO Elon Musk responded to a Tweep’s question about the release timing of the AWD vehicle. He said that a weekly production of 5000 Model 3 cars needs to be achieved before Tesla can build a new version of the electric sedan.
“So probably July”, that’s what Musk said when responding to the question on Twitter. Furthermore, he added that the company would like to introduce a new white seat option as well around the same timing.
Currently, Tesla only has one variant of the Model 3 in stock, that is the black-leathered long range with a single motor and rear-wheel drive.
So far, no full specs have been revealed, but the upcoming version which will pack a dual-motor, AWD powertrain should have a similar driving range and acceleration to the current top model; which is around 500 km and 5.1 seconds to reach 60mph.
