Pininfarina’s Flagship Hypercar Coming in 2020

Last weekend, Pininfarina’s parent company Mahindra has launched a new EV brand that will be producing electric luxury cars in the future. Automobili Pininfarina, that’s how its name is called.

To make a strong opening for the new brand, Pininfarina is putting the 653-HP track-only H2 Speed into production. The electric-hydrogen racing car will be launched this year with a short 12-unit run.

If consumers want an even more powerful model, they should wait until 2020 when Pininfarina introduces a hypercar that packs new racing technology deveoped by Mahindra Formula E team and – could possibly – Rimac.

Delivering an insane 1,500 HP, the pure-electric hypercar will reportedly do 0-60 mph in under 2 seconds and be able to travel as far as 300 miles on a single charge. Of course the beast won’t come cheap with such a high performance. With the eye-watering speed, comes an eye-watering price tag of $2.5 million.

If that price is too scary, consumers would probably want to opt for the Pininfarina’s first-ever SUV that will reportedly hit the market with a $185,000 starting price, or wait for a future electric sedan, which the company is also interested to produce.
