Skoda has unveiled the pretty-rugged Scout that will be part of the mid-sized Karoq SUV family. The newcomer is built for those who regularly travel across the beaten road.
The 2019 Skoda Karouq Scout is scheduled to premiere at the Paris motor show in October, bringing a number of adventurous parts to reinforce its appearance and performance. The new crossover features all-wheel drive as a standard drivetrain.
The available powertrain options are three, including a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol generating 110kW, a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel producing 110kW, and another 2.0-litre turbo-diesel with a 140Kw output. Meanwhile, the transmission uses either a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch automatic for all variants, except for the 140Kw diesel which comes standard with the DSG automatic transmission.
Trying to present itself as a competent offroader, the 2019 Skoda Karouq Scout wears bulky black skirts with silver complements, dark-tinted windows, thin black flares; corresponding silver roof bars, window trims, and mirror covers; and 18- or 19-inch (optional) alloy wheels.
The interior sports black and brown trimmed seats with brown contrasting stitching and ‘Scout’ lettering sewed into the front headrests. The interior lighting relies on LED ambient package, which is standard along with a leather-covered steering wheel, as well as infotainment system running on a 8.0-inch display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. There’s also an optional 12.3-inch digital dashboard with off-road display, also an electric tailgate lift and adjustable trunk storage.
