Listen to Hennessey’s 1,200-HP Dodge Demon Scream

By default, the Dodge Demon is already a powerful machine with 840 HP capable of pushing it to 60 mph in just 2.1 seconds and break the quarter-mile in less than 10 seconds. If these performance figures don’t scare you enough, Hennessey has a better offering with its HPE1200 package that will turn the Demon into a much wilder beast. As the name suggests, this package gives you a staggering 1,200 HP, and you can see that new power in action in Hennessey’s latest promotional video after this reading.

The acceleration test shows a brilliant result as the Demon takes 8 seconds to sprint from 64 mph to 148 mph. And while the company’s 1,000-HP tuning kit enables the Demon to run the quarter-mile in 9.14 seconds, it’s likely that with the HPE1200 package the car can do the quarter-mile even faster, presumably in under 9 seconds.

Hennessey explained in detail how it could tap into the Demon’s hidden potential, unleashing such a monstrous performance. The car got an upgraded supercharger, headers, and exhaust system. The internals have been forged to handle more power, and the ECU has also been remapped to match the other performance mods.

The addition of a new roll cage makes the Demon NHRA ready, while a new parachute will help it slow down and tame the remaining ferocity after running at a very high speed on the track.

Hennessey knows that 1,200 HP can be too much for some people, so it’s also offering a 1,000-HP option, although its aim is to increase the Demon’s power up to 1,500 HP. But what if there’s no Demon in your garage? But a Challenger Hellcat or Charger instead? Well, actually both models are also eligible for similar upgrades. Last but not least, let’s enjoy the soundtrack!
