Although automakers are being pressured to shift to low carbon emissions, we can still – fortunately – see high-performance cars getting more and more horsepower than before. But you may be wondering if a supercar of today is radical enough to take on a hypercar of the previous generation. Well, the Lambo-vs-Bug drag race you’re about to watch will answer that question.
We have to admit that the Lamborghini Aventador Superveloce Jota is a special vehicle. However, it still doesn’t seem to be fair to put it up against a Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse L’Or Blanc, which is a one-off model based on the open-top variant of the higher-spec 1,200 hp Veyron.
The L’Or Blanc cost around $$2.3 million when it was new. The highly-decorated hypercar was built in collaboration with Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin, which fitted it with glossy white porcelain complemented by the hand-painted blue lines that make it one of the most gorgeous vehicles out there. But at the same time, it’s also a monstrous beast that can beat a fast Lambo like the one that challenges it in this race.
Having ‘only’ 770 hp at its disposal, the SVJ is no match for the Veyron. Nevertheless, it’s still nice to see it giving a shot and putting up a good fight thanks to its jump start. To be clear, both cars met during the 2019 Supercar Owners Circle held in Andermatt, Switzerland. They’re only two of a bunch of exotic machines that attended the event. Their actions are filmed in the video below. You’re going to see many jump starts in it, but it’s still an entertaining show to watch.
