Close on the heels of the e-tron quattro’s world premiere, Audi has released an image teaser showing the fully-electric Sport e-tron GT concept that is scheduled to debut later this year in Los Angeles.
The cool picture you see here is a preview of the Porsche Taycan-based four-door sedan set to launch in 2020, with the production will take place at Audi’s plant near Neckarsulm, Germany.
Judging from what the teaser shows, the sedan will likely have a long wheelbase and sloping roofline. Its power and range should be almost the same as those of the Taycan, which means well above 500 HP and around 300 miles respectively.
There’s no info on platform, but Audi is currently working hand in hand with Porsche to develop what they call ‘Premium Platform Electric’ (PPE), and it could be that the new car will underpin this. Meanwhile, the e-tron sits on Audi’s MLB evo platform, which is the second generation of the VW Group MLB.
Audi plans to have an all-electric range by 2025, consisting of 12 models that use four new platforms. In addition, the German automaker will also launch more hybrid cars over the coming years to expand its electrified line-up.
