2019 Jaguar F-PACE SVR Goes Official

Last year, the existence of the 2019 Jaguar F-PACE SVR was still a rumor, but it’s slowly confirmed when the images of a long winter testing began to leak to the public. Now we’re even 100% sure about a production version as Jaguar has made official the all-new hardcore SUV.

Jaguar said the F-PACE SVR is the most powerful and fastest version of the F-Pace to date. It packs a 5.0-liter, supercharged V8 petrol engine which can put out 550HP and 680Nm of torque. The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox which transfers power to all four wheels.

Being set to rival the likes of Porsche Macan Turbo, the F-PACE SVR should be able to do a faster acceleration. At least 0 to 60 mph in no longer than 4.1 seconds. It’s good enough and already makes it 0.1 seconds quicker than the Macan compact luxury SUV. Regarding the top speed, it’s also superior with 176 mph.

In terms of appearance, the F-PACE SVR comes with a lower body moldings which gives it a more muscular, agressive look. It also features larger disc brakes (395mm front and 396mm rear), larger but lightweight alloy wheels (21- or 22-inch), a new rear spoiler and bumper, as well as quad titanium tips of the Active Exhaust system (6.6kg lighter than before) to shoot out its admirable sound.

Meanwhile, to jack up the dynamic performance, Jaguar has euipped the F-PACE SVR with an Electronic Active Differential (EAD) in the rear. The EAD maximizes torque distribution to the car’s outside wheels when cornering, allowing it to corner better and more quickly while maintaining its stability.

The other upgrades fitting the performance SUV include a stiffer adaptive suspension system, a specially tuned chassis with more rigidity, and a modified electric power-steering system.

On the inside, the performance SUV boasts leather-trimmed slimline sports seats with Jaguar’s signature lozenge quilting and embossed SVR logos. In addition, there’s also a 4G hotspot to connect up to eight devices, Jaguar’s latest Touch Pro infotainment system with a 10-inch touchscreen, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

As for the interior’s color scheme, it has four options include Red with Jet (black), Light Oester with Jet, Siena Tan with Jet, and Jet with Light Oyster stitching.

Price-wise, the 2019 Jaguar F-PACE SVR won’t be cheap. It will hit dealerships in the summer of this year with a starting price of $80,985, including destination.
